Bar per shot on your Leshiy?

My Leshiy is .177 and I have kept it exactly as it came from EDgun West so I'm not sure on the reg and hst settings. I get 26 shots on the reg with a 250 bar fill Jsb 10.3's around 815-820fps. When I had the digital gauge it showed that I was using 4 or 5bar per shot. I'm interested if I could squeeze some more shots out of it with a better tune or just wait until I buy a Huma?

I haven't had time to even shoot really for a few month now (plus its cold out lol) which is the main reason I haven't bothered with trying to tune it or anything.

My Gen 1 in .22 changes with the fill pressure. Remember I have the analog gauge so no precise measurements. It seems like from 250bar to 200 bar I get 5 shots so 10 bar per shot. But them from 200 down to 120 I get another 15 shots so that's 5.33 bar per shot. I'm sure it's got to do with the gauge accuracy as well as the compression of the air above 3000psi.

Curious what everyone else is getting per shot (and what settings, caliber, barrel, and ammo you're using). For those of you that also have either the digital gauge or other means for measuring pressure - how much air are you using generally for the tune(s) that you've configured?

Funny I was thinking about asking the same question as you did today. I have the Leshiy with the 350mm barrel in .22 cal and .25 cal., Huma reg. @ 103 bar and hammer @ + 14. with 250 bar fill

Here are some of the many pellet types I have tried at the above settings.

For .22 cal

JSB 15.89-910fps-29.22 fpe

JSB 18.13-865 fps-30.12 fpe

H&N Baracuda Match 21.14-800 fps-30.04 fpe.

For the .25 cal pellets

JSB 25.39 g-750 fps- 31.72 fpe

Polymag 26.0g- 764 fps-33.79 fpe

H&N Baracuda Hunter 27.47g-735 fps-32.96 fpe

With the above setting I am getting between 19 to 22 shots per fill. I have done some lower setting with about 25 to 26 fpe output and am getting about 25 shots per fill. Bill

huma reg, 350mm .25 cal barrel. speed with kings 248 meters per second. takes 10-11 bars per ahot

Nice! What are your regulator and HST settings?

reg 125 bar. dont remember hst setting

Sweet, how many bars are you filling to?

I need to go clean the drool off of my shirt now after reading that some are getting 200 shots 😲

I know, 12fpe doesn't sound all that bad all of a sudden lol. In the UK they can shoot an entire 500ct tin of pellets on one fill with some guns. That's insane! Talk about not needing a compressor since you would only have to use the hand pump once a month.

Haha right?! I do need to get my hands on a chrony soon though. When I took my Leshiy out recently for longer range target shooting, the 107 bar Huma reg + HST settings that I used to sight in at 10M was horrible at 30M - the 25gr JSBs were falling waaaay short!

I just need some real data to get it closer to where I need it, although I don't mind using my Hill MK4 indoors - it wouldn't be a lot of fun lugging it around for extra air in the nasty winter weather, the balance of power and air optimization is essential if I wind up keeping it in my hiking pack.

Yes, my .177 Red Wolf will shoot nearly an entire tin of pellets when filled completely with air and set to the Low Power setting (12 ft-lbs).

That's interesting on the 27.47g Baracuda Hunters - I was getting 17 shots with that ammo with a 250 bar fill, reg set at ~103, and 15 clicks from min. I'm getting around 23 with the Huma set to 110 and 16 clicks on HST, with very consistent trajectories at 50M.

I really need a chrony!

Yes you definitely need a chrony. As you increase reg pressure the ability of the hammer to open the valve relationship changes. The only way to see if you have a good shot string is with the Chrony. Bill

I turned my Leshiy up 3 clicks yesterday so am now getting 870fps with 10.3 pellets. I didn't lose many shots because now when it comes off the reg at around 120bar the fps only rises to 880 so I can shoot down to 100bar now as opposed to 120bar. I get about 23 shots from a 250 bar fill and accuracy seems to have stayed the same. I shot four groups and they were typical 1 inch groups at 50 yards though 1 group was near 1/2 inch.

No reason for turning up the power but why not I guess!
