Hey guys I just finished my rebuild tune and stock refinish on the Industry Brand/Xisico/Norinco BAM B3-2. I think it turned out great! A lot have said why did I bother doing anything to such a cheap gun. My answer was it was bought as a Guinea Pig to test out some stock refinish work and tuning before I moved onto more expensive rifles. Here is the result. I did 12 coats of Tru Oil with the first coat being mixed about 50/50 with Minwax Special Walnut stain. The stock didn't turn out as dark as I had planned but I like the lighter colour. I also cut in finger grooves in the pistol grip. Have a look.

I had one of those! I had a very hard time hitting anything with it but I haven't done anything to it. I think it was $40?

That trigger was AWFULLLLLLL!

How does your tuned and improved shoot?

CA

Yes that trigger! When I had it apart I couldn't see any way to lighten it. It is still about a 15 pound pull. But this one is pretty accurate , @ 10 yards I can put 5 pellets through the same hole with it. 15 and 20 yards I can hit what I am aiming at. This rifle is a plinker it isn't set up for paper punching at 50 yards lol.

Thanks everyone. It is a shooter it is accurate for the most part. Like one of you said at 10 yards it is pellet on pellet even out to 25 yards I was hitting what I was aiming at. I agree there isn't any way to lighten that trigger. Like most cheap air rifles the trigger is its biggest downfall. I even polished the sears on the trigger and the catch release on the piston, I lightened it a bit but not much! I know what you're saying about the HW97k and TX200, I purchased the HW97KT Blackline in October. That rifle is in a class of its own lol.

Nice job, the B3 should have been most everyones 1st springer. I purchased one at the Cummings Truck Tool Sale for $19.95 only because I wanted the sights and at that price how could your go wrong on a rear sight?

Fun rigs that provide years of utility service. The B3 is capable of things most $2,000+ airguns just cant hang with

and that rifle will still hit a tin can 20 yards every time, you also dont have to worry when using it as a loaner.
