Ballistic Co-Efficient .25 vs .30 Slugs and the Gun to Do it With

Hey everyone,

Been in the airgun hobby for a while, but have not been real active with it for a bit. Currently have a Taipan Veteran compact .22 as my only PCP.

Due to current ammo shortages / ungodly pricing for powder burners right now and possibly for a while to come, I've started wondering about getting either a .25 or .30 cal that can push some slugs at a high rate of speed for doing some longer range shooting 100-200 yds (or more if it's feasible). Might be used for hogs or yotes as well. I am not interested in any big bores.

Wondering if there are any calculations on BC's on retail available .25 and .30 slugs, and those with any firsthand experience.

Also wondering what guns y'all are running / modding for slugs. Guns that I've seen but not real familiar with are the Veteran long and he AGT Uragan, and maybe even the Texan .257 (but that thing is javelin length lol) Open to any suggestions one way or another (but not real interested in anything FX unless the issues have been resolved).

Thanks in advance for any knowledge!

Hard to beat a .257 for bc but requires a lot of air. Look at Nielsen ammo for .25 and .30 ammo ... he list bc of them. As far as the gun to shoot them, there’s a lot of guns that will, but requires you testing your specific barrel. I have a armada with a green mountain stock barrel that shoots swagged slugs and up to 48 grain hp cast very well. Lots of barrel prep though . Also have a rainstorm.30 modded that will sling a 66 grain bbt and Nielsen slugs very accurately. Up to as tested 920 with 66 grain. Some are replacing factory barrels with tj liners to shoot slugs
