Bad range day turns out to be great hunting day

I ordered some JSB Redesigned Heavies and they arrived a week ago. Every time I try to get to the range something came up to prevent it.

Today I loaded the car and drove to the range to shoot my new pellets. When I pulled up I was saw the RANGE CLOSED sign. Ugh. Go figure.

But then I remembered my squirrel hunting gear is still in the trunk. So I drove to the closest state game land and took a walk with the air rifle.

It turns out I shot my limit! First time ever with an air rifle. What a great outcome to a disappointing start. I shot 6 (limit) and all fell out of the trees. I could only find 4 but ended my day on a good note.

I had to use the 15.89 grain JSB Diabolo to hunt with since I didnt get to sight in the Heavies yet. I had pass thru's on all.

I am really hoping this gun like the Heavies. It would give me a significant advantage while hunting.

I have a chronograph coming. When I get the chrony set up, I will be shooting several different pellets to determine speed and FPE. Should narrow down what I want to use for hunting.
