Backyard field target part 4

It was a beautiful summer evening, about 80 degrees with light wind. Wife was showering then kids after dinner so I decided to squeeze in a quick practice session for Sunday’s club match. Sat down on my bum bag and felt pretty good, if I did my part the shots were spot on at 35 yards. Sun was setting so I was losing light, when I was just about to call it I saw some movement at the edge of scope. Scanned around my target and saw the unmistakable shadow of a small rat scurrying around under my target box. I already had a pellet in the chamber so followed the shadow with my center dot, as soon as it paused I squeezed the trigger. Great luck for me and good night for the rat.

It was getting dark and I don’t have illuminated reticle so the shot was not as precise as I would of liked but I knew I wouldn’t miss either using 24x at 35 yards. The rat jumped out of view but I found it only 3 feet away kicking a few time then dirt nap.

My target box and it was hiding under the box and between the 2 rocks.

The 10.3 FX pellet entered the shoulder and exited the belly opposite side of the body.

Kinda bummed I didn’t get a head shot but it was hard to see the center dot without illumination and it might of moved, but it is still dead. What a great summer evening and awesome end to my FT practice session! Hope everyone have a great weekend!
