For sure. There are two main reasons to use a fluted barrel. The main reason is to cool the barrel faster, which is moot when it comes to airguns. In that sense the S45’s fluted barrel is all for looks.
The second is to reduce weight. It’s minimal, but I guess one could make an argument that it’s at least semi-practical.
Thanks for hitting me back. I'm interested in understanding how B&W increased gas usage efficiency from their hpmax series to their semiautomatic S45. Airgun technology is evolving and it looks like they made an evolutionary step in it's design.
