I got this Made in Shanghai Chinese springer some time back and am now getting around to shooting it and see what it is capable of. I mounted a Tasco red dot sight on it I had and after sighting it in am pleasantly suprised as to how accurate this one is. I am using Crosman premier 7.6G pointed pellets, it is shooting consistantly 3/4 -1 inch groups at 10 yards (the extent of my current range at this time). At that range it is shooting through 1/2 plywood had to change the backstop and plug holes inthe fence
I think that if I could get the trigger down to a reasonable weight it would do better and of know it is at least 8 pounds now.

I had a 22-cal one. For the price, it was reasonably accurate with Crossman premiers and pretty good power. I think it was just over 500 fps from what I read. The rear sight would come loose, and always a concern for my fingers when loading it with a pellet. Sadly, I gave it away. I think it makes a great bang up truck gun. Built like a tank.

The single-sear trigger in these and many other smaller / cheaper / older guns is what lets them down, big time. 8-pound trigger pull in a 5-pound gun just does not work, as you can't keep the sights on the target while pulling the trigger to break.

Polishing and lubing the sear / latch rod interface helps, but it isn't a long-term solution, I've found.

You can use an ink pen spring in the trigger but be careful, they can be too light. I've even used one ink pen spring "screwed" inside another.

Good tip, but I would've thought the heavy pull is due to the direct sear interface itself, not spring power: the trigger itself holding the 100 pounds (or whatever in these small guns) of mainspring pressure.
