I assume you have the first gen since they just recently released the gen 2? The gen 2 is supposed to have upgraded glass and stainless turrets now. The turret clicks should be even better in the gen 2 which you already stated were very good. I would definitely take the Helos over the Aztec. I have been strongly considering the new 2-12X42 Helos for a compact size scope.
I also own both, and definitely prefer the Helos. Mine is a Gen 1, so if Gen 2 is upgraded they must be absolutely Greta, especially considering the price.
There's absolutely nothing to dislike about the G2 Helos, it's that good! I cannot fault it for the price point in any way, and these are truly exceptional scopes! Even the G1 is decent though I have some dislikes.
I have a gen I and it’s a good scope. Certainly for what we typically do with an air rifle
i find that for the most part you get what you pay for with optics. A gen I has decent glass it doesn’t compare to a $1000 leupold which doesn’t compare to a $3000 night force . Most of us are limited to some degree as to what we need and can afford to invest in an air rifle scope. I have seen a night force scope on an air rifle but it’s not a typical shooter. I think the Athlon scopes are extremely good value. On some of my powder burners I want better. I’m talking about guns I shoot rather extreme distances with in less then ideal lighting conditions . I’ve tried the Helios and it falls short in those conditions.
