Once you remove the trigger from an Avenger there's only a single screw holding the trigger assembly from that main body. And if you take that screw out, there's a spring that hops out.
When putting it back together, is it easier to:
a) Remove the safety pins, screw the trigger assembly back on, and put the spring back with forceps, screwdrivers, and swearing. Then reinsert the pins.
b) Wedge the spring in between the two little nubs, one on the sear/lever in the assembly and one on that catch in the main body. Then, while not letting it fly apart, screw the trigger assembly back on while under pressure from the spring.
I did a), but if I have to do this in the future I'm wondering if b) would be easier.
Why was I in there? All that holds the Avenger's wooden stock (at least all that holds my stock) is a M4x40mm screw. If you stick an M4x45mm screw in there, it will bend a tab on the main body down just enough to make it not let a Buck Rail Avenger stock kit work properly. In the good news/bad news department, that main body isn't even aluminum, it's just pot metal and bends easy. Which means it bends easy when an idiot uses the wrong screw, and bends easy when said idiot bends it back with the villainous screw in place and a vice.
