Tuning avenger issues

Hey guys I have an .22 avenger. this morning half asleep I accidentally double loaded 2 slugs into my barrel and had to take the barrel off to push them out. I got them out but there is a scratch in the rifling about 2'' in from the muzzle end of the barrel. I guess I did that somehow taking it out I was trying to be very careful but must have scratched it. I pushed it out with a rod that was 3/16 with a nice rounded end and heat shrink on the rod so the sides were smooth. any ideas if there is a way to polish out the scratch or if I should try to order a new barrel?

There are threads on here, and on other airgun forums, dealing with accurizing barrels. The polishing process might help, if the scratch is causing accuracy problems. I'd follow TMH's advice, and shoot it first.

The quick version: polish with J-B bore cleaning compound, and J-B bore brite (or some equivalent). I think a lot of people use a Kroil soaked patch with the polishing compound.
