Avenger aftermarket barrel bushing??

There are several moderator kits for 3D printers that act as the bushing as well.

Air Venturi Avenger air stripper, baffles by tomcat0987 - Thingiverse One of the parts in this kit would stabilize the end of the barrel

Air Venturi Avenger Shorty moderator .22/.25 by JuanitoPablo - Thingiverse

Air Venturi Avenger Moderator by Eddgie - Thingiverse

All connect to the barrel to keep it aligned. I'm currently using the last one, Air Venturi Avenger Moderator by Eddgie - Thingiverse, it reduces the report by 10 to 15 decibels and wraps around the barrel. Only sticks out 2 to 3 inches further than without a moderator. Seems a good combination.

I haven't seen files for the bushing, but the three above fill the same niche.

I will check those out. I do have a Donnyfl adapter and tried that but it really doesn’t work as I had hoped. The problem with that adapter and I suspect others is that if you start with a barrel that isn’t centered when you tighten the Donny adapter in to the shroud it puts non centering force on the barrel as everything is “pulled” into alignment and this has caused accuracy problems. The problems I am referring too are using the Donny fl without the centering device installed. Just frustrating as I’ve stated numerous times as my biggest gripe about this hobby are these free floating shrouded barrels. Just a bunch of problems waiting to happen. Have a feeling I will end up crossing my fingers I can somehow get another from air Venturi.

I have the wood stock version.

On mine, there are two screws that come in from the side of the barrel band. Under the screws are plastic balls that squish against the longer air tube and the shroud. You need to loosen/remove these before unscrewing the shroud. I have no idea if the plastic stock version is configured the same way. Not loosening these screws will make it difficult to remove the shroud. I know you mentioned the bushing that is locked onto the barrel but, maybe that piece is not the problem???

Also on mine, the rear trigger guard screw is one of the fasteners that secures the action in the stock. With this screw loose, and the shroud removed, you can watch the barrel rise as you tighten this screw (compare against the inside of the barrel band, and the distance from the air tube). The more you tighten, the higher the barrel rises. If you take the action out, you'll see that this screw tightens against nothing....except a thin section of plastic next to the hole.....which acts like a fulcrum for a lever. I put a spacer block in there, so the screw locks up solid, without causing the flex/lever/fulcrum issue. Might be worth looking at. Again, not sure if this applies to the plastic stocked version. After doing this mod, the barrel is very close to centered in the shroud without installing the bushing you mentioned (even with sag from the barrel weight/flex).

That bushing was definitely the problem. Initially I was pretty convinced the problem was caused by whoever initially installed the bushing over tightened the grub screw. Once it hits the barrel any further tightening will just cause the plastic to expand. However I have no idea how they got it on there. I couldn’t make it for back for the life of me no matter what. TP from AV is sending me a bushing. Unfortunately I also damaged the shroud.
