Avenger 25 caliber accuracy issues

Well, as rdtricks mentioned, you have affected the barrel harmonics. In most cases you might not notice any difference, but sometimes you will. Barrel harmonics can do some funny things with little changes. You probably will just need to play around with the speeds of the pellets you were previously using to get the muzzle to settle down again. But you might need to try different pellets too. There is also a small chance that you are clipping pellets with the adapter, but that would mean something was out of alignment. Likely not the case. Just try slowing down or speeding up the pellets first, little bits at a time. I assume you have a chrono? You will need one if you want to own a pcp.

clipping turns into wild changes in impact and is pretty easy to diagnose. I would start with small shifts in the hammer spring. I would go up to half a turn in small increments up and down. If that doesn't restore accuracy I would try some other pellets or change the regulator setting a little. (By small increments I am talking about turning the screw 1/8th turn at a time). I don't like to do a whole lot with the hammer spring because it sometimes gives me a slower first shot. But if your gun doesn't do that you could go further with those changes. I don't remember an accuracy change when I put a Tanto on mine but I didn't like the added length so I use an in shroud moderator instead.

Thank for the help everyone. I got her dialed in tight super tight today.
Adding the moderator adapter seems to have changed you barrel harmonics. If you want to keep using the same pellet you will need to adjust your tune to fit.
Thank you I got her tuned and dialed in super tight at 25 yards

Please share with us what steps you took to re-tune and get your rifle to settle down once again. Was it a hammer spring adjustment, regulator pressure adjustment, or something else you pulled out of a hat?
once I ruled out pellet clipping a started back at zero. I figured out that air arms 24.4 was new pellet of choice. So I ended up lowering the reg pressure to 2000 and about 3/4 cw turn on hammer spring. Re sighted in my scope at 50 ft 16 yards then made adjustments for 25 yards. Shooting better now than it ever has and it was extremely accurate to begin with
