If you're shooting close range with the .22 a polymag or something similar may help anchor them

Great shooting on those freaking beasts! I shot a adult female fruit rat last night with my Prod and it looks tiny compared to those norway beasts! Nice video! Keep up the excellent pesting! There is a male with her and he is much bigger but still small comparatively.

Yote , hello . I'm using several .22 guns for rats. Mostly head ,neck or shoulder shots, using Hades , Rifle or Gamo (wadcutter) ammo. Distance 5-20yrds in a barn. Most of this years kills have been w/ a Kral NP-03 @ 680-700 fps. Very few run offs. I had used RN pellets for a bit because of accuracy but ,only head & neck shots anchored them on the spot,so I switched ammo . I have taken over 300 rats so far . Don't discount your Avenger .22, maybe try some hollowpoint / expanding ammo as there is less pass through and it will certainly be a bit more cost effective over .25 ammo ! When it warms up and the critters start moving around outdoors and the ranges stretch out a bit , I'll likely bring out the long guns ( Avenger @950fps, Hatsan Factor @900fps Hatsan [email protected] ) all using Hades or Rifle pellets . I hear what your saylngI use the hades in 25 cal but I have 3 tins off JBS 18 grain.guess I’ll save them for birds
