Last night I debated should I take the DAR.22 or the Avenger .22. I chose the Avenger as it shoots same as my Dominator.22 (940 FPS) vs Avenger at 937 FPS with same pellet JSB 15.89 GR. So i was able to use the Dominator range card and all I had to do was re-zero Avenger from 26 yards to 50 yards.
I did not see any squirrels on the way in so proceeded to re-zero. I hung target and wind was right to left at 4-5 mph. Actually re- zeroed in two shots.(see pic). For the next 2 hours I walked and still no squirrels. I began to think they must be down as they give birth in Jan/Feb generally....then by May the wee ones appear.
At 180 yards seen my first squirrel. No shot. Moved and seen another at 150 yards. no shot. So after 3 1/2 hours I called it a day. Nice to get out though and it has been just over five years. Next task will be to finish tune on both rifles and do a side by side review of sorts.
