Air Venturi Avenge-X reg creep

The o-rings in the regulator of the Avenge-X seem to take a beating -
I switched to only using pure silicone oil rather than silicone grease - that helped a little - but I have replaced the o-ring inside several times.

Replacing the tiny o-ring on the end with a slightly tougher material made the biggest difference but unfortunately, I don't remember where I got those o-rings (sorry...)

If you accidentally use Shore 70 o-rings instead of the correct shore 90 (harder) o-rings, you can see the rings fail really fast (did that once).

The pressure does creep when the gun is sitting for a long time but hasn't gone past 200 bar unless left in the sun. I shoot at about 175 bar.

I have found that if I dry fire before loading a mag, I can get eight rounds +/- 1 FPS shooting 34-36 grain pellets or slugs - slugs running about 900 FPS and the pellets run 950 FPS (same tune). Delivers 65-70 foot pounds but I've done a few mods to other parts of the gun.

From a full fill at 300 bar down to 180 bar, I see speed drop 5-8 FPS (less than 1%) over 48 rounds (I have the bottle version).

I have a similar thread. Mine was essentially unregulated. I used silicon oil on the outside and it was a bit better for a few days and now it is back to leaking all the way to bottle pressure within a few hours. I also emailed Air Venturi but no surprise. Wish I did not buy the gun. Had it for a few months and it started leaking. Sent it to them after trying to get a hold of them for a few weeks. They fixed it so it now holds air but now the regulator is creeping. My gun is now about 18 months old, very seldom used. I would guess 1/2 can of pellets through it mostly for sighing in. As you all know regulator is out of stock everywhere and frankly not sure I would buy a replacement since most report that it does the same thing. Short of Air Venturi redesigning the regulator I think this gone is now just a paperweight. On my previous thread there were some good comments on how to fully rebuilt it but I dont think I have the eyes or finger skills to deal with the tiny o rings on this.

I have thousands of rounds through my 25 cal Avenge-X at this point - had very frustrating start - didn't hold pressure well, didn't regulate well and of course, then it didn't shoot consistently - At times it would leak to about 100 bar overnight.

The regulator was one of the big hurdles - and initially, the o-ring inside the regulator (which is larger and easy to replace) was a key problem -
The factory o-ring inside turned almost square in cross section - The tiny o-ring on the stem of the regulator is harder to replace but doesn't seem to wear out like the one inside.

Now that things have settled in and the inside o-ring is running better with silicone oil, I'm getting eight shot groups the size of a nickel at 50M and speed spread for the eight shots is 1-2 FPS -

With all the other o-rings sorted, the gun will hold 300 bar for weeks -

So YES - there was initial frustration but with the inside o-ring of the regulator changed, its way better and the gun is fun to shoot -
