When given a choice wood with a bottle.
Wood just looks so much better than synthetic. You can also change the look of wood with a bit of sanding and oil or stain.
The problem then is that what kind of wood? Some cheap grainless beech or fir then go synthetic.
I had an Avenger for a while, the wood was just some generic blonde wood that I just left it alone. I have a Niksan Ozark-W, that has Turkish Walnut. I sanded and treated with Linseed oil (several cycles) came out very nice.
Bottle because I want more air than tubes. I can also change to a different type or size if I want. The problem then is esthetics. Some guns, especially with wood stocks, just look better with tubes.
My 20+ years old British rifles with gorgeous grade 2 walnut stocks I would never deface by trying to add a bottle.
