Attaching rubber butt pad to wood stock?

Epoxy, with 4700lb psi strength it isn’t going anywhere and it chemically bonds really well between both materials. I use industrial from my construction stuff.

Most 5 minute epoxies will work just fine.

Also note not to get any excess on the outside and to wipe it off right away. A dry smooth old shirt works great. Make sure to have some clamping method figured out BEFORE applying. I would suggest using one clamp with rubber over the cheek piece of the stock, and then another two clamps from the end of the butt pad towards and hooking on the other clamp already installed so it pulls the butt pad towards the barrel. This way you can have the gun horizontally and clean the epoxy after application. I’ve done this while gun smithing work/refurbs on actual rifles

You can use stacked rubber slippers Shoe Goo'd as a butt spacer to increase length of pull if and when needed or just use rubber slipper as a butt pad on some rifles that don't have any such as the RWS 34 and Benjamin pumper or some cheap Chinese springers to even an old beater gun with a sticky or rotted butt pad. Yo!

I really like that archery glue idea. I’ve seen that glue. The thing about epoxy that is nice is that if you clean it correctly but miss one spot you can and it to perfectly transition into the rubber. If it is the right kind of epoxy you can also add pigment as a detail, if you want a special kind of color strip.

However, I do think archery glue might be nice indeed. I didn’t know what it is called but I’ve seen the glue in my friends archery/arrow stash. I’ve never used it but I should find some to add to my tool collection. Anyway good idea
