Atomic XR “Plinkers/Pesters” package… blooded

Right out the box she started hounding to get her blooded so I packed them both up in that sweet Savior Tactical case and headed out. The gun performs as I expected, got it yesterday. Five minute sight in, some plinking at various distances to prove that zero. Then she was begging to get on the same killing page as my first Atomic. I shot the first two during my initial setup. Change my setting and shot the next nine. But then I blew my third setup, got tired and hungry headed home. Proof of concept. A sweet, sweet package.

Great shooting. Man, those Atomic XR's are so darn cool to me. Perfect backpack/truck gun. I don't need one, but I'm sure looking for an excuse.

They’re part of the Brocock farm team, studying the Atomics terminal performance at POI. Much to “crow” about they all concurred. Cock-a-do-ru-do!

Athlon Argos HMR 3-12x42 SFP IR. Initially I was biased against the scope. I like FFP because of the holdovers being the same throughout the magnification range. And it’s what I have and will keep on my first Atomic. For the sub 40 yard pesting I’m doing? The Argos proved right away its capable, when plinking at 12x the holdovers will still hold true. I believe I’m seeing and advantage to a SFP scope at the ranges I actually kill pests, particularly when using the lower magnifications. TBD.

Did they change the trigger shoes in the Atomics? In videos I've watched they have a solid black non adjustable trigger but yours appears to have a silver vertically and horizontally adjustable trigger shoe?

Did your second one like CPHPs too?

That's a good looking rig, I love compact air rifles. I used to do a lot of early morning sniping in local parking lots until they all put cameras on the light poles. Short guns made it easy to shoot out the truck window.

Yes it does like the CPHPs, and shoots the JSB Exact Jumbos into a cloverleaf at 33 yards. Yours will also come with the new trigger.
