If you are shooting in your backyard, I'd highly recommend a permanent setup... full details here: https://www.edgunleshiy.com/blog/2018/8/3/edgun-leshiy-night-pesting-kit/

If you're gonna be walking around and not just backyard... a few options:

1) This is what I use... good to about 50-70 yards: StreamLight TLR-1 IR https://amzn.to/2JlzFHq

- It's crazy small... perfect for my use case

2) If you're looking for one of the best mid and long range... go here: Predator Tactics Coyote Reaper XXL Infrared Predator/Hog Light Kit (IR EDITION)

Super bright isn't always the best BTW... if you are going to be close range, the real powerful ones will just white things out. Make sure they are adjustable (the one above is).

Have fun!

I see that Predator Tactics also makes a smaller version of that Coyote Reaper - would that be better, just from a size perspective? That XXL version is a pretty good size light - says it's good out to 800 yards...I can't see shooting past 75 to 80 yards...but would want to see out further to be able to see what's coming in to shooting range.

I have a Leshiy as well - I may want to swap over to the leshiy at some point - but thinking I will setup the Vulcan to start. I don't want the light to be any bigger than necessary.

T - Do you have the ATN quick disconnect as well? Any issues with it? Necessary or overkill?

Thanks,

Eric

The quick disconnect is really great... not overkill at all. I swap that scope between The Leshiy, R5M, and Leyla all the time. It makes it so easy. 30 sec and I'm ready to go. It holds zero really well. I have profiles setup for each gun, and then a couple pellet options on the Leshiy.

Try the smaller one for sure... the light is definitely big.

Here's what I got for my ATN X-Sight II HD 3-14. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0755FQFP1

It comes with an IR pill 850nm, a red pill, a green pill, and a white pill. They can be swapped out in just a few seconds. It has the best rechargeable batteries (not just one, but TWO) and a charger. It also comes with a remote pressure switch that you can attach. It also comes with 2 different mounts (nothing else to buy) and I think it's the best damned torch you can get, so I bought two and I use both of them. On my old X-Sight II on IR, I can see 500 yards easy. With the white pill in, I can scan for coyotes a thousand yards. There may be better options available, but I've got nothing but high praise for this outfit.
