I've got an ATN X-Sight II HD 3x14 with the 1500 Range finder and IR850 lamp. I've shot it on a number of rifles. I took it off the Condor today. The ballistics software in the scopes is really pretty good for practical rifle work, in particular when coupled via bluetooth with the range finder. I set the optic up when I rebarreled the Condor yesterday and today I shot groups with it. I set the zero up at 23 yards which was the single point zero that Chairgun spit out. I then grabbed the BC for my pellet from CGP as well and plugged that in. I shot five shot groups at 11, 16, 23, 28, 31, 38, 56, 62, and 86 yards. It nailed the elevation so well that every single group surrounded the aim point. I was very impressed. It is the same scope that I used to make this video:

There are other videos at that account made with the X-Sight. They are a good product. I have not kept up with what the company is doing but I think they have been fairly responsive to the user community. I am going to be putting my whole kit in the classifieds or perhaps up on Ebay sometime in the next week. I need to work out what I think the system is worth today.

Anyway, I'd say if you want something NV capable, that can record video and solve the ballistics problem you can't go wrong with one of these. They are heavy, bulky, and fidgity until they are set up. Then they are pretty solid.

I have the 4K Pro in both 3-14X and 5-20X, definitely recommend going with the 5-20X over the 3-14X, clarity is much better in the video. Also, I had better luck buying refurbished over buying new. My 3-14X was purchased new and I had a lot of problems with it randomly freezing. And, this typically happened just as I was lining up a shot! Not good! I just recently had it replaced under warranty by ATN and the new one has thus far, been trouble free. I purchased the refurbished 5-20X direct from ATN for around the same money as a new 3-14X, and it has been trouble free since day one! Both have some great features and all the pesting videos I post to YouTube are recorded using my 4K Pros. I also have a X-Sight HDII in 5-20X, but find the 4K Pro has better clarity and the user interface is simpler to use. If you want to see some samples of the videos, I have shot, feel free to check them out on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC1fOzhvHTNBTWrD0VZwb5LA/videos

I have the ATN 4K 5-20 and love it..I use it on my Benjamin Marauder and my FX Impact and it is just dead on balls deadly.... Here is a youtube video i made with it on the Marauder shooting about 35 yards......I love how clear the videos turn out....just a wonderful scope...

Bought the ATN SuperNova IR for the upgrade

Awesome, you should be all set! Did you get the ABL? If bait them and know your ranges/hold over then the ABL is not needed, if you have a large area to hunt the ABL really comes in handy, straight up point, range and shoot. Just want to emphasize how heavy it is and not good for free hand shooting unless you got arms of arnold!

Love my 3-12x 4k ATN X-sight. Had the older 3-14x X-sight II and it was also decent, but the 4k is really nice. The display while viewing is good on the 4k, but the contrast is poor. Otherswise, it's excellent.

I like the 3x power as it has a wider FOV for "searching" and acquistion. I do get some pixelation at higher mags, but it's pretty good to about 20x. I guess the 5k would be good to nearly 30? Ballistic computer works VERY well and the recording is excellent. I want an ABL!!

Regards,

John

I have the 3-14x and use it for night hog hunting. The day time screen can get washed out in bright light. Read on the ATN forum about using a lens cap with a hole cut in the center. The hole restricts the light but improves the contrast which greatly improved daytime use. For the 3-14x the hole cut a 3/8". Don't remember what size for the 5-20x.

I also ordered this holder for the ABL as my rifle will not fit in the case when attached. This also allows the ABL to be mounted further back and improves the balance.

To fix the contrast problem all you need is the sunshade and rattle cap with 3/8 hole in the center, this also fixes sensitive focus problem. Of course this only works during the day, I'll try bigger hole and no sunshade at night to see if I can fix the pesky focus problem at night.
