ATN 4K any issues with running out of elevation, 20 MOA rings/mount needed?

So my ATN 4k 3-14 scope is on the way, I read one instance where it was being put on a bullpup like mine with one of those built in high picatinny rails, and he was running out of elevation adjustment. He did not list what caliber or power his PCP was, but he determined a 20moa adapter between his scope rings and the rail fixed his issue. 

Is this a common issue with the ATN 4k and PCP's? Or is it just caliber and power dependent? 

I will be using this on a 25cal Hatsan Flashpup and just curious if anyone else with a similar set-up ran out of elevation adjustment on theirs? And if a 20MOA rail is a must have.
 
The ATN is not a optical scope but a video camera configured through software to operate as a rifle scope. The post above from AirShot does not apply to the ATN.

Bought a ATN 4K 3-14 about 3 years ago and have mounted it on a Texan SS .45, FX Impact, Winchester .45, AAA Slayer .357, and a Daystate Pulsar .22HP. Never had a problem running out of room using standard rings. I actually have never changed rings on the scope and move it from gun to gun only having to add dovetail adapters of necessary. Tip: get some good rings as the included rings from ATM are not very good.

The one shot zero (actually can take a few shots) will adjust the reticle. There is no optical zero like with optical scopes. Just make sure you mount the scope the proper way as you would any optical scope. If you can clamp your gun level the ATN display shows the windage and elevation angles which aide n mounting.

Many high end rifles have a 20moa rail already installed. Not sure what you are shooting, but mine that have a flat rail do need a 20moa rail for .30 cal and up.. The .25 i put one on occasionally is ok zeroed at 75 yds without one but it limits adjustments if you use the ABL and smart mil reticle. For other reticles too, zoomed out fully you have some decent distance to adjust zero w/o a rail, but when you zoom in the reticle may be really low on the screen, making holdover tougher. The adjustments are by pixel and I have yet to figure out the mil/moa equiv. I always zoom in and fine tune the zero bc the one shot is somewhat of a misleading term. And I second that the rings are crap, esp the qd. 
 
Your screen can be vertIcally off center in a digital scope too. On my air force Texan with a sight mark wraith it took about 5O moa to have my screen centered perfectly at 50 yards. This is a very common issue with air guns. That why eagle vision makes a 108 moa adjustable base. Both wind age and elevation . it locks up great and held up to heavy recoil on my rig. I have a cold shot 144 mil adjustable base now and love it to pieces but it not cheap. You can shim base s for adjustments too but its.kinda sketchy and results very. Shims are cheap though 
 
Air shot you are right . I had exactly the same problem with digital scopes as optical scopes you need a adjustable base to have optically centered. Your screen will get lower and higher and run out of adjustments just like a regular scope. March scopes makes a optically centered scope with 400 moa adjustment vertical with a mechanical systems kind like cold shot base in Prince able.
