This is probably old news, but thought I'd share just in case.
I did the oring mod to my one of my Atlas knockoff bipods but even with the handwheel tight the tilt was to loose. The spring is not strong enough to firm it up sufficently. I happen to have an aftermarket Sumatra hammer spring that is considerably stiffer that fit the diameter perfectly. The first one I cut the same length as original and it firmed it up pretty well. Cut another about 1/8" longer, worked even better. Last one was around 1/4" longer and seems just right.
