ATI Nova Liberty

Orion, Steve and All,

I've given my .22 Liberty a few hundred shots to settle the reg and valve but still see 75 to 100 psi loss per day when idle. Is anyone watching for leakage or is everyone shooting too often to notice? I use my .22 mainly for farm small pest control so filling it up and having it leak below the regulator before needing it is a bother.

My original Liberty is still holding air solid, along with my first parts gun. A number of people are reporting leaks at the valve poppet. Apparently it is made of a PVC like material that deforms over time/use. Last I talked with Ty at ATI, they still did not have the replacement poppets from Nova. People that are fixing them, are remaking the poppet with delrin or peek, which should last much longer. Some are just machining a little off the metal cup, and refacing the original material. Just some pointers if that happens to be where yours is leaking. They are identifying via the balloon test over the barrel.

So far I have been fortunate that mine is still holding air with no leaks but I haven't turned the reg up as far as some have done either. I did find that because the barrel is quite tight that it needed cleaned frequently to keep its accuracy. I also started lubing the pellets which has helped prolong the accuracy before another needed cleaning. Two passes with a bore snake and it's right back on track if accuracy drops off. I started using Blaster silicone spray to lube with then switched to Napiers spray lube, then figured out that Napiers is just re-packaged Marvel Mystery Oil and bought a quart of it from Walmart. The Marvel oil works great and leaves a nice film on the pellets and I can usually shoot through a tin of 500 before needing to clean the barrel again. Although my rifle shoots several pellets well I'm using the JSB 18.13's as they buck the wind better than the 15.89"s, and shoot flatter than the Barracuda 21.13's. Good luck to all you lucky Liberty owners.

thebanker4,

Hello,

I was wondering if you are going to start selling slugs, I think you mentioned it in your last video but I did not catch when and how you would be doing so.

Thank you,

Jim

Hey Jim, yes. They are on eBay under AVS Slugs. I just put them up tonight so it might take a few hours before eBay indexes the listings. I have 4 weights up for sale. 22, 23, 24 and 26 grain. They are .217 diameter.

Yes how is it adjusted and for what do you need this adjustment? Any parts schematics diagram anywhere?

No adjustment needed. The set screw only holds the guide bushing in place. The bushing on my 22 Liberty is slightly recessed by maybe 0.010". I assume that is so that it will not interfere with magazines...which index on the barrel protrusion.
