Athlon Midas Gen2 4.5-27x50

Just switched the scope out on my M3 for the Athlon. Wanted a scope that I could dial elevation rather then use hold over reticle like all my other air rifles. So far I’m liking it. Glass is clear adjustments are positive. The zero stop is a nice feature. With my aging eyes it would be nice if the elevation markings were a bit larger. Maybe I’m spoiled by my March scope. Got a great deal from The Optic Zone with free shipping for $525.09. Here’s a picture of the zero stop with the elevation knob removed.

 Once zeroed just loosen the three set screws and rotate the brass ring against the stop then tighten set screws back up and reinstall elevation knob on zero marking.

How does the glass compare to the March?

The March is 8-80 x56 which I usually shoot at 600 yards on 80 power. Doing so I loose a lot of light transmission. To give a fair comparison I would have to put the two side by side and on the same power setting. I know the March is pretty clear when I turn the power down but I only do that when setting up on target at F-class matches.

The Athlon Midas BTR Gen2 4.5-27x is currently my favorite scope for the money. At about $500 I think it would be tough to beat. Its an SFP scope, but that is my preference since I'm a "clicker". I have one on my .25 Delta Wolf and used it to win the Extreme FT at the recent Oregon EBR/EFT event...
