Athlon Chrongraph, is flawed if shooting with others

A buddy loaned me his new Athlon crony last Saturday and I used it for one card in our N50 match. It picked up my shots AND the shots of the next bench to my left. I was going to buy one until I used his. Its useless in a match situation. It might be fine for a single shooter but totally useless if shooting next to another shooter in close proximity.

I wonder if Garmin’s have this same problem?

Here are how the benches are set up in my back yard:

Close together. Not a competitive situation, but I've never picked up the shot of another shooter with my Garmin. And we have 8-9 folks shooting at times.

Tim, FWIW.

The Garmin is expensive and probably overpriced. With coupon, you might get 10% or more discount. Mine has not missed a shot, and I use it every day at the range and the iPhone app is great for me. I have not seen any or many negative reviews by most here on AGN, and all the PB guys have dumped their Lab Radars for the Xcero.

Doesn’t have BC and some other features, but great for tuning. YMMV is my disclaimer.

Guys relax. I know Tim very well. Great guy and bench shooter.

He does regularly shoot N50 matches and I’m sure he wasn’t trying to blast the Athlon Chrono. The fact that he did pick up neighboring shots was a concern, and probably reflected some disappointment.

All good, as he was asking the Garmin owners for our feedback.

I don’t mean to bash the Athlon but merely stating that it is flawed in a BR scenario when shooting in close proximity and close to others. The Athlon was on my bench and recorded 74 shots between the two of us for two 25 bull cards. If you shoot by yourself then it may likely be fine?
Good information because if I was shooting alone, then shot around others and the chrony starts reading shots I’m not taking, I might have thought something else was wrong with the chronograph.

I would expect that most folks will read beyond the title of a post before making a purchase decision. And then make their decision based on the descriptive text of the thread. Seems like a lot of bunched panties for no real reason.
Thanks for pointing that out. I edited the title to be less blunt, which I have a tendency to be
