Athlon Athlon Optics, Talos BTR, Riflescope, 4-14/44 ffp

I loved the Talos BTR 4-14x44 until I got a Athlon Midas 2.5-15x50. The Talos BTR performed well for me good ranging and a very finely graduated reticle (0.2 mil) - I won the 2016 AAFTA Hunter Piston Division with it. However, compared to the Midas, the Talos BTR reticle is a bit thick. Although the Midas is not FFP, I only shoot at 15x for Hunter Field Target so it does not bother me much. The Midas is clear - almost too clear and needs a sunshade to avoid a bit of wash out. The clarity works well in the dark woods in NE Ohio. The Midas's price has dropped considerably and runs $325 to $389 now.

Athlon does well on warranty work - my Talos BTR started to get sloppy in the side focus. I sent it in and had a new one about a week later. I have about 4 of the other Athlons, including the Argos FFP which is a great scope, but does not have the APLR1/2 reticle which I like for HFT. Once thing - shop around on price, as places like Amazon go up and down daily in price.
