Athlon Ares ETR UHG 3-18x50 34 MM Mrad in FFP with IR

Athlon continues to impress me for what it makes at the price point it gives us.
I continue my quest (obsession) to find the worlds greatest HFT scope for ranging at 16X.
I am currently waiting on a 6" round parallax wheel for this scope, but my initial workup on the bench has me totally impressed with the I.Q.
Stay tuned for pics and further details.

I've been trying out this scope too, for HFT. The image quality is a full grade better than the Ares BTR 2.5-15x50 scope. Build quality is similar, being exceptional. The one thing I found when comparing the 2 scopes is that the range markings on the ETR (at 15X) are spaced MUCH CLOSER together between 10 - 20 yards, where ranging is more critical. The spacing between 35 - 55 yards is actually quite a bit more spread out than the BTR. At least to my eyes, the ETR is better for distance ranging but not is good for close up ranging. I still need to spend more time with the scope to see if the image quality makes up for the more difficult close up ranging.
