When people show their appreciation it SHOWS what kind of people they are inside, warm hearts, and the kind of people this world needs more of! So thanks a bunch, CHUCK, 2L8, 18.13, Dairyboy, Ranchibi, L.Leon, and Peskadot. Hey we like scopes, the passion is there, and we appreciate that measure of features and quality for the price that Athlon offers in most of its products. But this year those things excelled even farther!

Not enough $ and I want more scopes, lol, but heck I'm almost there!

Thanks for the review Chuck. Do you have an Ares BTR to compare it to, in regards to clarity? I'm sure the mechanical quality is similar and superb.

I'm a huge Athlon fan. I bought one of 1st gen Ares BTR 2.5-15x50 scopes and had an issue where the reticle was shifting around. The customer service process to handle this issue was FLAWLESS! Because of this, I now have Ares BTR scopes on all 3 of my PCP's and have no desire to look at another scope manufacturer. Customer service is a big deal, and Athlon nailed it!

Edit: I do wish Athlon came up with a higher magnification (4.5-27 or 6-24) Ares BTR/ETR scope with a 10yd minimum focus.

Green Yamo, no sorry I have not seen any of the Ares BTR scopes yet, but in the new Gen2 scopes I have seen so far the glass & coatings have been dramatically improved. Like you I also wish they would make every one of their scopes with a minimum 10 yard focus. Unfortunately change always comes slower than I would prefer, but they are making some great improvements nonetheless. One of the problems with this is that Athlon Optics started out in the business of making rifle scopes for powder burners not air rifles.

Many years ago I contacted them and revealed a whole new market for their products to them that they had not considered before, by having them go to some of the airgun dealers like AOA & Pyramyd Air and look at the scopes they were selling...and pushed their sales people to contact these airgun dealers about carrying some of the Athlon line of scopes. I did my best to convince them that they could probably sell a lot of scopes to us airgunners and to make them "airgun friendly" by doing things like making them focus down to 10 yards.

And I am glad you did touch upon Athlon's Customer Service and Return Policy. Its one of the many reasons I love this company so much! What it amounts to is that you don't have to register the serial number or have a bill of sale or anything else...if you have an Athlon Scope and it has a problem you may send it back to them and they will either repair it or replace it with a brand new one! Period! And if they no longer carry that particular line they will send you a new one comparably priced or an upgrade to the one you had! How ya like that? Its one of the reasons why if I am going to buy a new scope or binoculars or range finder it will be an Athlon! They are loyal to their customers and hope we are loyal back to them...works for me!

I just downloaded the brandnew 2022 Athlon catalog from their website. Some companies have catalogs that help you find stuff (like this one) -- other companies not so much.... Some don't even have a catalog....



And the first thing I did with the catalog was scan the specs table if there were any new scopes with 10 yard parallax, especially in the 4.5-27x range. Nope. Not yet. I won't give up hope.

I seem to recall reading here that a member contacted Athlon and was told that they were going to come out with a FT specific scope, but that it got delayed becasue of covid. I REALLLY hope that this scope doesn't get axed because I am really looking forward to this scope.

I was on the phone with the higher ups at Athlon a few days ago. Yes so far Athlon is moving forward with the FT scopes. Hope another plandemic doesn't come about, or WW3 doesn't start, to screw things up, right ??!!!!

I'm so looking forward to an Athlon FT scope line, have been since the Co came out!!!
