Ataman m2R type 4 .22 cal

Loving this setup, my Ataman M2R type 4 and carbon fiber bipod, its light weight and compact. Took this squirrel from 50 yards out shooting the jsb 15.89 grain pellets and put it right behind the squirrels ear. If any of you guys are thinking of picking up an Ataman I'm telling you now these rifles are amazingly accurate, quiet, and just so comfortable to shoot. Very impressed with Atamans quality.

If that's a Ca. ground squirrel, it looks like a giant. At least by the size of the ones I see down in the San Diego county area. Nice job.

I concur, I love my ataman M2r ultra, it’s so quiet and the trigger, amazing stock. With a donnyfl it is my most quiet and dependable medium range .22. I replaced the oem stock with a commercial sized magpul and it is rock solid now. I like that I can unwind the magazine when not in use and the safety only toggles when the action is cocked. It’s a great hunting rifle and plinker. I just bought the leyla and it’s good, but the ataman is still that good to keep.

Nice I like the paint job on your Ataman! and I didnt know you could swap out the OEM stock, was it a hard install?

The paint job is camo tape. To remove the buttstock, carefully punch out the roll pin that holds the stock in place. Once removed, the stock slides right out. A new commercial sized, (there is mil spec tube diameter and commercial sized tube diameter), will fit right up. Gets rid of that wobble in the stock.

'm hoping this thread isn't too old to post to still. I really like the Ataman setup here. I've been wanting to add a bipod and was wondering how you did yours and how it's held up.

I'm also planning on adding a Lelya, so I'd love to hear your comparison. (Although, my m2r is .25 cal and I plan on the. 22 cal Lelya).

I managed to add a Picatinny rail to my Ataman m2r ultra compact synthetic stock. I used a tabletop drill press and the rail and screw kit available at MidwayUSA and other sites. If anyone wants advice, please let me know.
