Aside from a shop compressor and filter, what else does the Shoebox require?

That is a good deal. I am now charged $10 for each true 4500 psi fill of my 88 cu ft CF tank, that is in effect twice as much.

Although nitrogen is a very dry gas, its also very dirty. The paintball store I go to for filling my tank said they stopped using nitrogen for paintball tanks 10 years ago because of this issue. Even being a very dry gas, the contaminants and particles led to rusting and corrosion inside the tanks. Now they just use co2 with a quality particle and moisture filter.

We use nitrogen at my company all the time. nitrogen is used for it purity (99.9998%) and its non corrosive properties. It is used while welding stainless steel piping and for purging voc from process systems in chemical refineries. Not sure what grade nitrogen they were using but I have never heard that before.

An important thing to remember about nitrogen, While it is harmless if used in an open area, it displaces oxygen in confined spaces. In my industry, nitrogen kills multiple people every year from aphixiation (spelling?) not a concern when shooting an airgun, I would take some precautions when I was filling my tanks off the big tank.
