FT Match Report Arlington Sportsman’s Club 05/24/2025

Welcome to the ASC FT May 2025 match report. We had one new shooter, Michael McAleer, and the long-awaited return of former shooting friend Patrick Hunter this first match following the successful ROT for a total turnout of 14 shooters. The temps were MUCH warmer than they were in April! It seems like the long stretch of hot summer matches is upon us.

Match day dawned warm with a lot of wind, and it only got warmer as the day went on topping out at 95F and 20mph winds. The lower scores once again reflected the wind blowing through the trees that is often unseen. The Troyer was 31.7, SD 4.92, Avg Dist 28.8 yds, and Avg KZ 0.97”. The wind made the course more challenging than 31T for sure! The match ran very smoothly, and we only had one cold line for a target protest, but as usual it turned out to be a split pellet. ;-)

Here are the results for May:
Brian S won Hunter PCP and HOA with 53/56 shooting his FX Crown, Scotty H finished 2nd with 51/56 shooting his RAW TM1000, and Jim C in 3rd with 47/56 shooting his Daystate Redwolf. Paul B shot 46/56 in Unlimited to win with his Marauder pistol, followed closely by Rick K with 45/56 shooting his FX Crown. I finished first and last in the WFTF class with 39/56 shooting my ’92 Air Arms NJR100 again. You can see the results below and also be sure to review the results at https://airgunshoot.com/ that shows the average score on each lane, your score on each lane, your hit percentage by lane or near/mid/far targets, how you compare to your class average, your class winner, and the HOA winner. Thanks to Scott Cotton for his continuing work on this.

After the match was over many of you helped pick up the targets and wind the strings, and then Paul and I put everything back into the barn. Thanks to everyone for helping take down the course, it is greatly appreciated.

See you next month on the 4th Saturday, June 28 for our next match,

Jeff Cloud and Scott Cotton
