Artemis PP700 mods and tuning

Hey! I was looking at getting an Artemis PP700S-A in .22, add a stock and use it as a "hunting carbine". As far as I understand, this is a pretty common thing to do with this pistol.

As this would be used in place of my rifle sometimes, I was ideally looking at getting something like 30-35 Joules from it in terms of power (with quite a bit of tuning of course), but that might be too much to expect from a pistol? From what I've seen, it seems to be accurate enough for my purposes, but power is lacking quite a bit.

I imagine I wouldn't be getting more than a few shots per fill, but that's fine as I always bring an air tank with me when hunting.



If anyone has done anything similar, or has any input in general, I'd love some thoughts and ideas. Also tell me if my goals are set too high!  Cheers!

Veradium Air tune them to about 700+ fps, https://www.veradiumair.com/news.html, Mine is just unmodified with a custom wood stock.

you are asking too much from that pistol. it can not give you that power.

Indeed, somehow my brain errored out. What I meant to say was joules, so something in between 22 and 26 fpe. Do you think that would be possible?

Well it looks like the guy in the link above managed near 20fpe with Hades pellets so with a heavier pellet you may make it to a bit more than 20fpe but then you have to worry about the trajectory of the pellet. That is really pushing it for a short barrel like that.

this pistol is not for high energy.

I just tweaked the regulator and hammer spring and get 743fps/19.5fpe with .22 Hades. If I shoot some heavy JSB it'll do 21/22 fpe.
That's 743 with around ~15 shots before really starting to drop.

Mine is shooting 14.3 Crosman Premiers at an average of 670 FPS for 14 FPE. Just choked it down to 600 FPS for just under 12 FPE to take out roosting pests.
