Arken zulus hold over error

I might be doing something wrong, but I can not get my ballistics table and holdover marks to match.

The blue line is where it should be

I have made sure
- I have the correct table uploaded
- I have the latest updates
- the gyro has been calibrated
- the range was taken from level
- all of my input data is correct.

What rifle is it mounted to ?
Which Arken mount are you useing?
0 , 20, or 35 MOA mount?

Is it accurate at other distances?

It is mounted to a panthera hunter compact, with a 0 MOA mount. Zero is at 20 yards.
It is slightly off at other distances and just gets worse the farther out you go.

the table is correct. I have reran the numbers in other ballistic calculators and get the same results. I put on my regular scope and have dialed from 20-100 yards with the correct point of impact based on the table data.

Can you adjust the B.C in the program to get right hold overs...

I do not think it has anything to do with BC. I could be wrong….

Here is another example. My zero is 20 yards. Yet at 20 yards my aim point is not dead center.

@corguy15 - I took the Zulus out this AM and did a video on my LRF positioning. I zeroed the gun at 30 yards. LRF is right on. I did a few longer and shorter and they compared with my Strelok+

Try adjusting scope height setting & see if you can get closer to intended reading. I had to do it with Strelok. Don't know why but it worked.

So I have to adjust my scope height all the way down to .5 of an inch to get the holdover mark to be dead center at my 20 yard zero

This does not make any sense… also my 103 yard range is still not on the correct mark

Pardon my digi scope ignorance, but dont you have to enter the 20 MOA that is in the rifles rail, or is that negated when you zero the thing at some distance ?

Good point. I think it would be negated out when you zero

Everyone (almost) is missing the point... the holdover in the scope has nothing to do with the real world except for the LRF ranged yardage. You could hold it in your hand and it should read the same.

I have this scope and verified today correct range vs reticle holdovers out to 106 yds from my ballistic table.

Questions for @corguy15 :

1) You said you have the correct table uploaded - can you clarify how you did this? Menus and steps and any messages.
2) Did you set your ballistic mode in the scope to the local table option?
3) Do you have the latest firmware?

1. You can go in to the system setting and then click version. It will tell you the table name

What if you change it to first focal plane? This way no matter what power you are on, it should range correctly. just a guess.

I meant that the scope height and the rail angle don't matter to the displayed holdovers. It should match the table.

However @AJT might have a point .. if it's set to SFP then the holdover will change with magnification.

SFP vs FFP seems to make no difference

Maybe the table got corrupted for some reason, try to input some datafields again and resend the table to the scope?
Or try a different memory (A-Z in the zero reticle menu)


I've noticed a bug in the app as well:

When one selects FFP and then go into the reticle page, if you change magnification (zoom) on that page the hashmarks stay the same size, but the holdover distances change. This is of course NOT what happens with an FFP scope... (the hasmarks grow or shrink, but the holdover distances stay the same for any given hashmark. For an SFP scope the hashmarks do stay the same size, and the holdover distances change with varying zoom level so in that case it shows correctly)

Have you done a distance drop test to verify BC? How are you measuring atmosphere conditions?

You have the scope height set at .5" . Do they measure to the center of the scope ? It seems like it would.
