Arken SH-4 My review (video)

Great review!!!

Suggest you immediately buy an Alpha6 4.5-27x50 you will be amazed. Keep the A6 as a reference to compare your other more expensive scopes to. Everyone should at least have an A6 for reference as a bare minimum to expect when buying ANY SCOPE especially when paying more than $200. Thank me later. Buy it before reviewing the Crimson Trace and Tract Toric.

Scopes are utterly useless if you can't see the dang reticle during daytime in real world situations like in the field in shadowy backgrounds and looks like you Arken realistically is only useable between 13x - 18x max since its not clear past 18x with a 30 yard minimum close focus.

It's also pointless to buy any scope that's not bright and clear all the way to max power if and when paying more than $200. The A6 will prove that. You will see.

I also have that same scope and your review is pretty much spot on. The only thing I noticed off was the price of the scope. They had an increase on January 1st and it’s now $449.99. They were selling them previously at the price you stated. Like your review states, the turrets are excellent and one of the best things about the scope. The overall build quality seems very good to me. I also thought the glass was acceptable, and I do wish it was a little better. But I think of it this way, at the price point you are paying there has to be some compromise there. They apparently put money into getting the turrets great, the fit and finish good and a nice reticle. The glass is where they saved money. I wish it was better but then the price point wouldn’t be what it is. I do wish it had a 10 yard parallax as well to make it much more suitable for airguns. I will say that my reticle looks to be better than your’s at lower magnification. You might want to try adjusting your diopter just a little to see if that helps if you haven’t already done so. Overall a really good thorough review and I enjoyed it. I will be looking forward to your thoughts on the Crimson Trace and Tract Toric.

What you see on the scope at low magnification is not what the camera sees. When I'm recording the image at 10 yards parallax, I was saying: "even if you see a clear image" I said that because at 10 yards I was able to see everything clear but the camera recorded everything out of focus. At low magnification I can see the reticle very clear... I think SFP scopes are way better for recording scope cam footage because you don't have this problem....
