Arizona Tree Squirrel Camp & Cook Adventure

On this trip Terry, Marley and I head into Arizona for three days of tree squirrel hunting. We are hosted by friends and use a variety of Airguns during this most adventurous hunt. Noor from The Dollar Sportsman channel shares his cooking skills as well as his knowledge for hunting these elusive animals. I want to especially thank Airguns Of Arizona for sponsoring this most epic trip. Enclosed is the full video I hope some may find interesting and entertaining.

Hey Dana, I just heard from a shooting buddy after you posted this video. After watching it, he thinks you could make a heck of a video at a dairy that he pests (birds) there in the PHX metro area. I agree.

He took me out a couple weeks ago and I shot over a tin of pellets. In four hours I shot so much that I was sore the next day. Incredibly high volume shooting, the likes of which not many airgunners never get to experience. He's offering to take you out to the same dairy. Frankly, I think you should take him up on it, whether you want to turn it into a video for your channel or, not, because when I went, it was about the most airgun fun I've ever had.

If you're interested, PM me on here and I can put you in contact with him.

Thank you sir,

I've gotten in contact and appreciate the referral. I know that area is difficult to get permission to hunt so agree it would be an excellent opportunity.

I've only hunted on the Mogollon rim in AZ. Always wanted to get to the Mt. Lemon area to hunt. Some places have year round squirrel hunting. Guess you were there. Good to see Robert enjoying some off work time. Have fun, Scott

Yeah we were hunting the last few days it was open, ton of campers around so had to call last day off. I was just happy that we all had some good shots in.

Must be my lucky day to talk with you and Robert on the say day...while John Tafoya and I were shooting pigeons at a feedlot in S Texas. As you now know I too, saw the video and thought it was excellent! I even loved Marley even though she may not be the best squirrel retriever. She did have fun though. You can put Scott Dellinger and me on the squirrel hunting waiting list. By the way, who is in charge of the list. 😀 Would loved to have seen a bit more of the cooking scene too but a great video.
Keep on shooting🎥 Chuck

Thanks Chuck, was a pleasure getting to talk with you for a bit. Sounds like you guys were having a good ol time with the birds. Looking forward to using the bag and showing it off in the field.

Cheers,

Dana

Great Video! I ate one of those many years ago when hunting in the Gila NF. I was not much of a cook back then and roasted it over a fire like in the old cowboy flix. It tasted like chewing pine sap. But when you are famished, down it went. Dr. Pepper? Sounded like it must have done the trick. One of the other hunters killed a turkey and cooked it. It tasted the same. There was a huge bumper crop of pinions that year and everything out there was gorging themselves. The Squirrels could be very annoying when trying hunt. They were constantly alerting each other to our presence as well as everything else within earshot. The place was crawling with them.
