ARGOS BTR GEN2 10-40×56 BLR SFP MOA

Hey Guys,
Received the above scope yesterday and installed on my RAW HM1000x.
Love the scope using it in my 12 yard (crawlspace) range out to 100 yards at the rifle range.

Clearer, sharper than my Element Optics 6-24-50, even though I really like the Element ....
Much finer reticle vs. the Element which I originally though was too almost fine shooting at 12 yards, however, the center dot while being very small, is crisp and clear out to 100 yards.

I previously purchased the SWFA 16x40 scope with a similar, fine reticle, but I just couldn't see the center dot clearly at any distance ... creating too much eye strain, defeating the whole shooting experience. Hence, sent the SWFA back and purchased the Athlon.

I think this is the last scope I will need for my PCP bench shooting:).

Two negative things I have noticed:
1) Only 45 MOA vertical adjustment
2) Rear of scope doesn't sit back very far for my ideal eye placement

According to ChairGun a 25.4 grain JSB Re-Design shot at 950 fps drops about 41" from a 50 yard zero. That means, almost all the scope vertical adjustment (45 MOA) would be needed to keep the center dot on the bull. Likely fit adjustable scope rings to keep the scope more centered.

Something seems wrong with your input because the app which I use called Shooter states 10.3" drop at 100Y from a 50Y zero???

I heard a rumor a month ago from an anony-mouse source that Athlon will be offering a an HD or UHD benchrest type optic with similar but probably higher magnification than the 10-40x. I just hope they build it to focus at 10 yards, otherwise I won't be buying one.

Hopefully that's Athlon's new scope designed and optimized for FT matches but it'd still excell for BR I suppose??

The more I use my Vector Continental 5-30x56 the less I like it so I'm going to try the new Athlon ASAP.

Yeah Steve,
That does seem like a lot of drop ....
Still 80+ 1/8" clicks or 45% vertical limit, above center on the scope (from 50 to 100) - but it still holds a consistent POI :) .
