Are they safe? Chinese CF Bottles

So I’ve seen a lot of people get carbon fiber bottles for their FX Dreamline Compacts. It seems like the company everyone is getting them from is liaoning alsafe technology co. ltd from eBay. My question is are they safe? It seems like they have the FX threads but does it stop leaking air after being unscrewed like the original FX bottles? (Asking 2 separate questions) I want to get one but a lot of Chinese items have questionable reputations. Which it seems like that’s where these bottles are manufactured. Should I save my Time and money? Or take a chance? Anyone with input please chime in.

The bottles are safe. However, are you aware that you will also need to purchase an FX bottle adapter with check valve in order for the bottle to attach to an FX? The 18 x 1.5 thread fits an FX valve but that will also need to be factored into the total cost. The valve fitting will cost nearly $100 more with shipping from an overseas vendor.

The Chinese CF bottles are as good as the Korean CF bottles most of the manufacturers use. They will handle a little more pressure (300 bar) than the Korean CF bottles (250 bar). You will need the FX valve for your bottle no matter which manufacture you use. The Chinese bottles have a thicker aluminum core that will handle more pressure but they are also a little heavier than the Korean CF bottles. Bottles tend to leak due to bad o rings, Chinese, Korean or American. Other than the fact I hate patronizing China I would trust a Chinese CF bottle more than a CCP member.

so I would need this part in order to even be able to use the bottle? I found one for $60 here in the US from Ohio AG, but it says it’s for the 480 cc bottle. Does it matter the size of the bottle to use this valve? Thank you guys for the help and quick responses.

luisberry13,

It looks like you have the FX valve, the standard metric thread M18x1.5. You will be fine with any of the Chinese CF bottles from 220 cc all the way up to 500 cc. That valve will also fit a Talon Tunes 580 cc Korean CF bottle, @ $215.00 that might be a better buy. The Chinese CF bottles prices are on the rise. You used to be able to get a Acecare Chinese 500 cc CF bottle for $97.00 shipped from aliexpress.

BTW, I use the Korean Inocom CF bottles as well as the Chinese Acecare and Liaoning Alsafe CF bottles.

Haha I don’t have the part yet, that’s just a zoomed in screenshot I took of the Ohio AG website. I wish I could go bigger but I have a Dreamlite Compact so room is limited. I was thinking of the 220 cc or 350 cc bottles. I’ve seen multiple people with the 350 cc bottle so I know it will fit but I want a small bottle to keep that compact look. Plus adding 50 ccs and being able to fill to 250 bar instead of 230 bar will add to shot count. At least 10 shots with my current setting. At least that’s what I’m hoping.

You might also check Liaoning Alsafe’s .42L (420 cc) CF bottle too. It’s only 1.5” longer than the 350 cc bottle and the same diameter, 61 mm. The 220 cc bottle is only 50 mm in diameter if I’m not mistaken. I put a 420 cc bottle on a custom build of a friend of mine.

Edit;

I was mistaken, the 220 cc bottles are 55 mm in diameter, not 61 mm like the 350, 420, 500 and 580 cc CF bottles.
