Are these rings overkill

Looking at a couple of rings that are much more than I am used to spending. Currently using FX adjustable, Eagle Vision adjustable, and Warne 20 MOA mount. 

Has anyone used the American Rifle Company M10 scope rings and/or M10 QD-L Scope Mount, IOTA ring?

I really like how those M10 are put together.

Any need for rings of this caliber?

The M10’s might be overkill on an air gun but I put a set on a PRS rifle after seeing someone post about the American Rifle Co. rings here on AGN. They are awesome, look great and the interlocking ring design is very well thought out. I guess it boils down to what you want to spend. You wont be disappointed! I sold the rifle and rings a while back. I don’t miss the rifle but I wish I would have kept the rings! 😆

Did you have the separate rings or the one piece? I really want the one piece for convenience in case I am taking the scope off or if I want to throw it on another gun but scope will probably stay on only one gun and never come off. I really don't want to add too much weight to my setup. a couple of oz here and there add up.

I had the two piece, only because at the time, I couldn’t find the one piece mount. I’ve never really counted ounces on any of my rigs unless it’s a gun I’m going to be packing long distances or up into the mountains, but I get it. That decision is yours and yours alone but there are advantages to the one piece mount. Either are great, you’ll be happy with whatever you choose.

I recently bought an inexpensive and light AR style one-piece UTG offset mount to experiment with. I like it for it's solidness and versatility. It holds it's zero and level every time it's removed because it has lugs that go right into the same picatinny rail grooves. Maybe try an inexpensive AR style one piece unit firstly to see how you like it, as those American Rifle Company mounts really expensive for what they do.

The ARC M10 is way too heavy for your needs. If you’re set on a high-end mount start with the much lighter Nightforce, the design offers more flexibility in mounting. The Badger Ordinance mounts and rings are worth a look also. You can find both at eurooptic.com.

There's no kill like overkill, but I agree with Nathan - the NF mounts are as good as anything available, and lighter. They also have good clearance for the elevation assembly, which may or may not matter, depending on your scope.
