Are there two kinds of barrel lengths for Marauder .22 Air Pistols?

I was looking and I can see some Marauder Pistols whose barrel extends out pretty far past the air tube and there are others whose barrel ends just past the air tube., what's going on with that?

My pistol has the "long" barrel.

No expert on Prods however I believe it's just the shroud that's longer that someone adds aftermarket to make it quieter. However if they bought a Marmot Militia hammer forged barrel for it you can order longer barrels for it. All the same from factory though no difference in barrels or shrouds only aftermarket parts are.

You are correct, it is only the shroud that is longer, not the barrel. There are baffles in the end, to make the air rifle quieter. I read that it has no impact on accuracy, just the Prod's quietness.

Does anyone have one on their P-rod?

If your Prod is stock than it should only come with the shorter shroud. Everyone is right about making it quieter. It also looks like factory to non original Prod owners. The stock barrel didn't meet my expectation after trying 10 different pellets. I went with a 15" MM barrel so the extend shroud was mandatory. Accuracy is amazing and more velocity. I've been able to take small game out to 60 yards. Haven't tested it any farther but there's still enough FPE to get the job done.

If I had to do it again, I would ask Jim to cut the outside slot to fit both Prod and Mrod. Also make the transfer port a little bigger. It will still fit the Mrod as is but you don't have to crank the Allen screw as tight on the shroud adapter.
