Are Discovery Scopes springer rated?

Like the topic says, I recently bought a HW30 from AOA and I have a 3-12 x 44 Discovery Compact scope that’s FFP. I kind of want to throw it on for fun but I don’t want to do it if it’ll break. No point in wasting money and I have no problem using the iron sights. I looked this up, I’m sorry in advance if this has been discussed. The searches I did popped things up from 2012-2015 that didn’t give definitive answers. 
 
Another possibility. I have a Clearidge on my HW30s. It's not the quality of a Leupold, but a good value in its price range. I bought mine used. I had to send it back at one point and they turned it around within a couple of days. No questions asked. I was impressed.

While I won't disagree with finding a scope with a lifetime warranty, that Discovery should very easily hold up on an HW30. If you're wanting a compact scope, I'd say try a Hawke Vantage or Airmax 2-7x32. The Vantage is rated for springers under 12fpe which your 30 is, the Airmax (I have a 3-9x40 on my R7 .20) line is rated for magnum springers and they have a lifetime warranty, but from reading AGN, YoDoyle will trash those too and tell you consider something else.

I used an ohhunt 1.75-10x24mm scope on my HW50. Also used a primary arms 4-14x44 scope. A lot of people will argue that if the scope is not intended for a springer, it will break. That just isn't the case. I firmly believe if the scope is of decent quality, it will last. Problem being that some "reputable' companies will sell some really cheap scopes at a nice markup so you think they are decent. And will make them look nice to boot. Meanwhile, I can get a nice sfp or ffp glass etched scope that will withstand some massive shock, and pay half as much. 

Discoverys in particular have some extremely rough R&D tests performed on them.

After my Diana 460 Magnum springer killed one of my Hawke 3-9x40 scopes, I bought one of those Bullseye ZR scope mounts that Diana makes. I used it under the new scope I replaced the busted scope with and, so far, the new scope is doing fine (knock on wood). I haven't noticed a drop in accuracy by using the ZR mount. Now, I have them on my other springers, too - an Air Arms TX200 and a Diana Model 48. I'm thinking that this recoil absorbing ZR mount is better for a scope than firmly mounting the scope to a springer, especially a magnum springer..

FOR PRICE REFERENCE ONLY- UP TO YOU- you may opt to pay the higher prices for the same scope if it makes anyone sleep better thinking better quality you get what you pay for in life right?

Believe it or not, a huge number of people would rather pay the highest prices for everything in life and refuse to try anything if the prices are just too cheap for them to even try and rather pay full MAP retail prices for their items. I'm one of the few that think the exact opposite.

Last question, if I decide to just use the discovery scope I have, how will I know if the gun “breaks it”? It’s not an FX where it’s pellet on pellet. I’m new to springers so I’m not the most accurate with them. How will I be able to tell?


also I appreciate everyone’s input. I’ve been reading and looking into the scopes you have all recommended.
