Are deformed pellet tins that common?

I just recently received a pellet shipment. It was an order of just 2 tins of 500 count jsb pellets. 1 tin came in perfect condition. The other tin came partially smashed and after doing a preliminary sorting it appears that roughly 25-30% are badly dented/deformed and the rest have minor imperfections, very few pristine pellets. Compared to the other tin which is mostly pristine pellets and very few deformed ones. I have sent an email to the vendor and I am currently awaiting a reply. This is the first time ordering from this vendor and on the forum people claimed they had good packaging/ customer service so I am hoping they will work something out. How often does this happen to you guys? What do you consider the best place to buy pellets?

Only 2 places I've ever gotten damaged pellet tins from were Amazon and MidwayUSA, they both pack seriously lousy. PA, AGD, AoA and Trenier are my usual go to pellet sources, all pack well and only issue I've ever had was with PA and they sent me a couple free tins on their dime plus a $10 credit in my account.

I just sorted this batch of 500 JSB 15.89 grn .22 cal. The tin was in perfect condition. There are 44 damaged pellets. I was just visually inspecting. No fancy tools. I’m kinda starting to think this is the norm.
I ordered these from PyramydAir.

I got (2) 1250 count milk cartons from pyramid about a month ago. (Which are now almost gone) crosman .177 wadcutters. They put stuffing paper on top of the cartons but nothing side to side so the cartons were crushed by each other and the lead weight. To my surprise only 100ish or so pellets damaged.

I'm going to make an order with Pyramid tonight or tomorrow and take advantage of the buy 3 get 4 deal and hopefully some free shipping, but idk if they're $50 or 100 on the free ship. Anyway I'm going to make a note about the problem on my new order and ask they get packed better. My cheap ass is finally gonna splurge on some JSB, H&N, and other pellets. I have only used crosman up until now. I shoot an 880. It dropped my group size using the wadcutters (previously CPHP). From 3" down to 1" at 22 yards. I've been happy with those wadcutters. Esp for price. Idc how good JSB is, I don't think my gun will tighten up much more than its current 1". I mean if they give me half inch groups I'll gladly eat my words though. (I'm really hoping they will).
