AoA hw95L

So I had a springer itch and bought one of these in .22. From the vendor chrony string, it seems its a sub-12ft/lbs rifle, shooting JSB 15.89's at 550fps.

I would really prefer a full power model. I don't mind purchasing a kit and dropping it in. I've done vortek kits on HW95 and an R9 before. So looking around, it seems the vortek pg4 kits are in ill regard, with the steel sleeve and galling and such. I remember liking the plastic sleeve in the PG2 kits I had before. So....AoA seems the only place selling the PG2 kit

Does anyone know if the AoA vortek PG2 kit is the 12 ft/lbs one, or the SHO? If it is 12 ft/lbs, I guess I'll probably go get a full power spring from ARH for it, and keep the vortek seal.

You should consider sending the gun back.

It could have low power due to an oversized barrel bore, or a bad compression tube. At best case a messed up piston seal.

And those are problems you'll be stuck with forever if it's the case. Putting more spring in a gun that's not sealing well from the get go is a recipe for harsh shooting and short life.

You'll have even more harsh shooting with the Vortek stuff, if it even works to begin with.

Id weigh my options. I find it highly unlikely that AoA would stock a sub 12 model.

The listing for a PG2 kit on AoA is a mistake. I called to ask if they really did have PG 2 kits in stock since they were no longer made and was told during that phone call that their website was wrong and had yet to be updated. Order 1 from them and you're likely to get one of the new PG4 kits.

I'm with thumper. If your gun is only shooting sub 12, there's something wrong with it. You can dig in yourself and void the warranties or send it back, get a replacement and see what happens.

What's bad, is they knew it was underpowered, yet sent it out anyway. With a chrony string as proof even. Wow.

Hope they make it right for you. I know it sucks to have to exchange it, but it will be worth it in the long run to have one that's right from the start. I've been down that road myself with HWs with bad barrels and compression tubes and ended up having to part them out.

Yeah, I was disappointed that it shipped like that. At least they were happy to take it back with out any cajoling or arguing necessary. It was sure buzzy and harsh shot cycle for 10.5ft/lbs, now I am excited to see what they do with it!
