AoA and Ranger XR update

Today, I received an email from Shane at AoA. My gun had a leak at the end of the cylinder that they repaired. They then aired it up and let it sit for a week to verify the repair. It should ship out today on the way back to me.

I am well pleased with the service and communication. Looking forward to shooting it.

Good news, post up your impressions once you shoot it a while. I'm loving the Atomic XR in the compact carbine mode. Easy hits on small objects to 50 yards and beyond. Awesome little package.

I had a little time today to shoot. Trying to rest the narrow bottom rail on sand bags is less than ideal. When I could get consistent holds, it seemed to want to shoot very well. Shooting the Hades and Barracuda pellets and both grouped well, I just couldn't do it consistently. I mounted a bipod when I got it back home. Should help some. I also think that years of shooting firearms off of a bench doesn;t directly translate to pellet rifles. Pressure drop fairly quickly with the small air cylinder and with the gun set to the highest power setting.

I cannot fault the gun at all. I wanted a compact gun and I understood the trade offs. The Hades pellets also shot very well in my Bantam for anyone interested in that particular pellet.
