Anyone using .25 cal 38.5gr nsa slug?

Anyone using the 38.5gr nsa slug in .25 cal? I have a few questions.
I have the older impact metal style magazine that hold 16 rounds, this is before the big high cap magazine 30 plus round came out. Does the 38.5gr nsa slug fit in these older magazine? Anyone know?
I am using the slug A liner in .25 cal. Are the 38.5gr accurate in this liner? I wanted to know b4 I go and buy a few packs. Thanks guys

I just tried them in my Royale magazine that should be the same as the old impact ones. They cycle well, they've shot pretty well out of a Slug A liner for me but I think the 36gr are better.

Thanks for the info man. I was debating going for 36gr or 38gr. But wanted heavier for more energy and still be able to use with the magazine.

I agree with Clem the 36.2 gr are more accurate.

So with that liner, the above is probably pretty close, the 34.9’s were better for me, but all are very speed dependent! You can go from sub moa @ 100yds to 2 moa in 10-20 fps with almost any slug, so make sure you tune to the projectile and not necessarily a target speed! The 38.5s are a good hunting slug, but they do take some air! The 38.9’s shoot even better consistently for me, but a smaller hollow point is noticeable when shooting critters, not as good. So I hunt with 38.5, and shoot comp with 38.9 in the heavy liner. The reason I don’t care for the 36 range? It seems to be the transition point between standard and heavy liner twist rates? Jack of all trades? Master of none! IMO, good luck.

I'm using the 38.9 NSA slugs in .25 cal out of my older Impact MKII. It has newer mags compared to the gen 1 style but the 38.5 and 38.9 both fit well and shoot well for me. I don't see the 38.9 listed on the Neilson site anymore. The 38.9 has a cupped base and shoots better out of my MKII than the flat base 38.5. I also like the 34.9gr. They shoot flatter than the 38.9gr but don't buck the wind as well. I'm shooting 150 bar, power wheel on max + 3 quarter turns, valve just past 4. 960 FPS 1 1/2" groups at 125yd. I hear others with tighter grouping but I haven't been able to tune to that degree.

I bought a bunch of the NSA .25 43 grainers and have loaded the HunterTech mags, no problem. I have Stud mags that I have yet to load. M3 should be here Monday. Hoping for decent accuracy out of a slug barrel.

My suggestion with the superior heavy liner is don't get FPS hungry like is so easy to do for most of us. In my experience the 25 and 30 cal Neilson Specialty Ammo in any grain shoot best between 940 and 960. I've tried many weights and speeds over 960. All the way to 1040+. At the end of the day I always end right back where I started in the 950 range. I've spent a fortune tuning for higher speeds but by design they do better 940-960 whether I like it or not. Hopefully this helps, maybe save you a few dollars on slugs trying to find a needle that may not even be in the haystack
