I did search and didn't find very much about these slugs here. Just wondering if people that have choked barrels have good luck in NON-FX guns with these pills? I know the story behind them and how he worked with FX etc.. So they are likely good in those FX's.. But I wonder how they are in different rifles- barrels

Anyone use Patriot Javelin Slugs.. in Non FX rifles?

I tried the Javling slugs 217 23 grain in my kalibrgun argus 60 in light breezy condition. Turned the hammer spring to max to get the slug flying at 925 fps, was able get consistent nickel or slightly larger size groups out to 40 yards. The groups fell apart at 50 yards and beyond. I plan to get heavier weight javelin slugs when back in stock at PA. I think it has a lot of potential, at least in my barrel.

Tried slugging a .22 Sumatra with NSA, H&N, ZAN, then finally Javelin. The Javelin's grouped similarly to the NSA and H&N. Only ZAN 33gr. were a close contender to the 25gr. JSB redesigned. If you have tried the other slugs in your guns, the Javelin might offer similar results. They are not a silver bullet compared to the other large slug makers.

the frugal air gunner wonders why we spend 2x the price of a 22 long rifle to get half the foot pounds of energy from a slug... I know it's a hobby, just doesn't always make sense
