Anyone tried the KAHLES - K1050 10-50X56MM SCOPE

I've looked thru it and tried ranging with it. I'm assuming you would like scope for field target shooting for either open or WFTF.

I liked how nice and clear it was and the fact that multiple field target shooters that use it state that it does not shift ranging distance with temperature changes.

I did not like how top wheel was not very smooth, little sticky I would say. And it was not very snappy in and out of focus.

Have had 2 of the Sightron. 10-50, I like my Aztec more. Don't know if it was temp sensitivity or my eye position repeatability or both. Not trying to put them down, just didn't work me at my patience level.

I didn't go into it above but while I'm right handed, I do lots of stuff left handed. Specifically, I have a difficult time loading a single shot tray with my right hand. With a sidewheel in place, or without turning a comma wheel out of the way, you just can't load a tray from the left. I just picked up a red wolf.... even the mag only works if inserted from the left. (come on DS, you really think people won't want decent size sidewheels AND to be able to insert a magazine???) Thus my curiosity on the top focus wheel.... That accommodation for my loading preference isn't worth an extra 2k but is another thing the Sightron won't help with.

Thanks for your insights., much appreciated.

You can insert your magazine from the right side if you desire. Just move the stop pin to the right side. I think it covers it in the Red Wolf manual. Might have to switch the magnet to the other side too.

I haven't tried it and it DOES say you can do that in the manual but several folks have posted that this doesn't work on the new generation DS's, including the RW. They have the warranty info wrong in the manual compared to what is advertised too. So in my book the manual is just the MCT's with a different cover.

Mag is in the box and now stored. I prefer single shot. Not trying to start a debate.

Not trying to start a debate either, but if you want to pull the magazine out of the box you can insert it from the right side. I just moved my pin on the magazine to the opposite side and tried it after your post. Worked flawlessly. I didnt move my magnet, because I left side insert. But if you move your magnet it will pull it in smooth like it does from the left side. Just trying to be informative. Good luck.

I have had this scope for almost a year now and it’s prity good. At first it’s strange haveing the parallax wheel on top but you do get used to it. The scope is mainly for field target but I use it for field target hunter field target and just plain old hunting. The glass is great on it it’s not a cheap scope but worth the cost long run.

To change what side you load a Daystate magazine you need to change the pin over and the magnet easy to do.
