Anyone shoot slugs in their .177 cartridge revolvers?0

Well, I'll bite. I have a ASG Dan Wesson CO2 replica. I tried some JSB Monsters (13.0 gr), not slugs but the closest to slugs that I have. Very poor performance and inconsistent MV between 100-150 fps. Sveral bounced back at me off the cardbord target backer, not very safe. That gun is normally 325 fps+/- with 7.0 gr Crosmans. Regards

I have heard rumors about some shooting slugs in their SSA’s.
I was puzzled by that as all slugs for the .177 seem too heavy.

Actually when I first read your post I figured I'd try it with the heaviest pellets I have and get back to you. Very low velocity prob because of gas loss at the barrel/cylinder gap.

Not all slugs require ultra velocities. Knifemaker used to hunt scorpions at night with a pistol shooting low velocity slugs.
I do agree they do not have enough lung power for currently made heavy slugs.

I posted on GTA last night 4 targets, 2 Colts (Ace in the hole and 5" Duke) and 2 Schofields (short and long). Not good results at all with the slugs. Later when I change devices I will post them here as well.
