I have a 500mm .177 mk2 coming my way and am going to set it up for some ratting on a buddies farm, just would like to see other peoples setups and how you like them.
Anyone pesting with a 500mm .177 Impact?

I dont have a impact 177 but a RTI compact 177 (510mm barrel) I've been using lately on the farm to take starlings. The FX 10.3gr pellets do a good job of taking them out...gotta be careful on the tune with a 177...those little pellets zip right through them.

Not a impact, but my 500 mm CZ barreled .177 Vulcan 3 will lay the smack on most pests, and as long as we talk rat size or small bird size, will do so out to distances where seeing them with the naked eye would be hard unless the are backed by clear blue skies,
I am sure that MK2 will do just fine.

Thanks guys! My Taipan Shorty with CZ barrel is .22 and I am sure it would do just fine as well with the 18.13 tuned down to about 810-820 fps but I like where its at for day time pesting and want to set up the .177 impact with some night optics.

Well any excuse to pick u a new toy i say.
I also like me some night optics even if i cant legally go pest hunting, as that would require a "lengthy" and " expensive" course, where among other things i would learn how to use poison ( when all i want to do is shoot rats )

You should have an insanely high shot could with your Impact Mk2! I'm guessing 200+ shots? I just bought a .177 recently. Man, those pellets are tiny. The gun is so quiet I really enjoy shooting it.

I am hoping by next weekend, i have to wait for the night optics to arrive, i imagine its going to be a lazer lol we don't see too many people shooting .177 from impacts.

I'll be surprised if it isn't 200+ shots... the 177 RTI .... I mentioned above will get 114 shots on a fill (220cc tank)... starting at 300 bar down to 100 bar. (That's going by the gauges by the rifle.. which are fairly close to my tank)... you'll have air in one fill for a few nights hunt. Dude your gonna love that.. enjoy!!
