Anyone own a crosman 622?

Just came across one of these on the bay and it's intriguing. 6 shot pump repeater co2 shotgun sawed off.

Just googled it and they were full length this one has been cut down i reckon.

I have several. One is modified with a sleeve I made to allow bulk fill. And the sear modified to eliminate the immense trigger creep. Neat Crosman co2. I made a trigger pin that helps greatly with reassembly. That can be a little tricky without it.
IMO chopping the stock and barrel is the handi work of a butcher.
I acquired my 622's and magazines before the price went bonkers.

Yeah I'm not dropping 300 bucks on one lol. I think the sawed off is neat but kills the power.

Would like one but not for $299. I'll find one someday. Needs a video done on it.

I just picked one up at an auction. That's what brought me here, actually, but I'm sure I'll have other questions about a few other airguns I got at the same auction.

Very neat airgun. It has better wood than some shotguns I've owned. Seems well built and shoots well. It's one of the most interesting guns I own, within airgun or otherwise.

Too bad the clips have gone into the stratosphere. It'd be nice to have a few more of them.

It's there anything special I need to know about maintenance on the 622?

I made a pin to hold things together while you put the halves together. Can be frustrating without it.

Owned a 622 Pell-Repeater myself in the early / mid 70's
Lots of Co2 carts went threw that rig before wising up and moving on to other AG's non Co2
Was in my early to mid teens and really had no clue if rifle was a good one or bad ? Just shot the snot out of it using the Old Benjamim .22 Green lid tin pellets. Recall it having a fairly robust barrel, nice wood stock too .. loved the pump / sliding forestock feature being like daddy's pump shot guns.

Hello boys, here are very rare, I am looking for one, I found a unit but in very bad condition, with the receptors very deformed, barrel out of control, and index without synchronized, it gave me the feeling of a fragile carbine for limited and very careful use.

I have found another one in apparently better condition, I wanted to ask you which parts are the most susceptible to wear or breakage, to try to obtain spare parts beforehand, and maintenance you recommend for enjoy the carbine for many years without problems.
I want to tune up for get 600 fps, can you show tricks to achieve it and know what autonomy with a 12 gr. capsule, after of modifying it, I am providing an email so if you could send photos they would be of great help, [email protected] and also photos of unit found,

good luck guys and sorry for my terrible english

Pin the valve body to the co2 tube. It's not hard to make a "tube/sleeve" with O rings to make it bulk fillable. Then modify the cap to accept a fitting for filling it. The long tube holds a lot of co2.
Not a very robust rifle. Fall on it and you'll spread the receiver halves and the barrel will wiggle around.
Post #10 is my bulk filled gun.

ok KWK, pin the valve body apparently it is an essential modification , also I had thought about reinforcing the end area of the receptors with a metal band or screw. (I put a photo example) to give consistency in case of a fall.

I´m worried about whether the indexing system has any parts or areas prone to failure, for the difficulty in finding parts or modifying to make this system reliable.
In your experience, the indexing system fails easily? if it is very prone to desynchronization or breakage, I am doubting whether it is viable to purchase it.

Crosman 622 It has an attractive classic design, 5.5 caliber and room for improvement in power but certain structural weakness, GAMO G 1200 the caliber is 4.5 worse for Co2 but reliable and robust, it achieves 15 joules with modifications, very very funny.

The indexing system doesn't inspire confidence. I haven't had problems with it probably because I don't shoot the gun that much. It's a fun short range tin can annihilator and that's about all it could be.
Not sure the screw you would add will help much. The receiver weakness is around the barrel.
The pin I describe in post #10 is a great aid in reassembling the gun. Otherwise it's like putting socks on an octopus.
At one time the Gamo intrigued me but not any longer. It was also marketed by Daisy. Was never a popular gun in the US. I think more common in the Spanish market.

your carbine get 600 fps or more ? If I got a good 622 I wouldn't put a reinforcement screw in the receptors, I would put a metal band around that area although it would cover the bleed hole.

Maybe I could make an index head out of aluminum and fix it in the correct position, so it doesn't wear out.

G 1200 It is a very good rifle, the only problem is having the type of pellet restricted, only round and match, are modified for 88 bottles (umarex lever action), this carabine in 5.5 would be a bomb
