I was just wondering if anyone else owned a BSA Defiant here in the states. I love this gun! It’s heavy at 9lbs (most people complain about the weight) but really helps you hold it steady when standing and shooting. Mine is in .22 cal and I got it from AoA. I picked this over the Wildcat mainly because of the cocking lever being centered.

I also noticed something interesting, if you watch any review videos on the BSA Defiant, they are mostly made in UK and it sounds like the gun makes a weird “twang” noise when it’s shot https://youtu.be/qM0IZaSfA6Y. (Fast forward to 1:54) It’s tuned to 32 fpe for the 🇺🇸 and it does not make that noise. Just wanted to see if there were some other Defiant owners in the house. I love this airgun.

Yep, I've got one. Same "black pepper" stock as you have.

Cept that couldn't live with a "bullpup" over 30" long. So, as nice as the original silencer is, I put a shorter one on to get the gun to about 29.5" Not much, but under the original 31".

Yea, I don't mind the weight, it's easy to shoot, actually holds on target well with the weight. And...with all of the shooters using a bench, table, or fence post to shoot off of, you'd think the weight would be a big problem. Hell could weigh 15lbs, and it wouldn't make a bit of difference for bench shooters.

The weight is pretty much centered at the grip center. I've got a Vortex Strikefire II red dot sight on it.

My only problem, is that the trigger is tight in its mounting block. It's getting a little looser with use. There's really no easy way of loosening it the way that it's designed. The first stage is...a little weird, but still plenty predictive.

Awesome. I think your the only other owner of the Defiant that I am aware of. I sometimes wonder why someone would choose the Wildcat over the Defiant. I would bet they are equally as accurate, but the Defiant coming in as a few hundred dollars cheaper.

I have both the Wildcat Mk III and the Defiant, (among others).

They are on the opposite ends of the weight scale. The Defiant being on the heavy side, the Wildcat being on the light side. Wildcat wins.

Depending...on "where" you buy the Defiant...it "may be" cheaper. The normal asking price for the Defiant is higher than the Wildcat. THAT...being the case, I'd go the Wildcat every time. Wildcat wins

I don't know the exact accuracy of either as I shoot offhand, and yea, in this case, I can shoot both pretty equally. BUT...reread my post above. No winner, mostly equal.

The trigger on my...Defiant has a lot of friction in the mount that it's in, so the overall pull is a "little" tight. If I had a hand full of very thin teflon shims, I could fix the problem, but It's not a big enough deal to rip everything apart to fix (right now). The Wildcats trigger is VERY nice straight from the factory. The Wildcat wins..

The stock on the Defiant looks like it was designed by two people. The front half...a gun stock artist, the back half a bridge maker. The Wildcat stock is nice, front to rear. The Defiants, "black pepper" stock (above) is really nice looking. Overall, the Wildcat wins.

The Defiant has an 11mm dovetail scope/sight rail...WHY? Need to buy adapter to mount real optics. The Wildcat has a Weaver-Picatinny, a bit more up to modern standards. Wildcat wins.

Would I sell my Defiant, no, I like it. But, obviously my Wildcat Mk III also has a permanent home.

I have the same salt and pepper in .22. It is extremely accurate and does make the "twang" sound when firing. The stock shroud makes it plenty quiet and back yard friendly. Just ran into a problem yesterday. The air tank won't fill. The hose pressurizes to 230 BAR but the guage doesn't move off empty and there is no air in it. I am researching what to do to remedy the situation.

Note...fill using your fill method, that is, your tank, pump (hand - electric)..
The gauge on my Defiant is bad, and the needle does not move. But...if I just watch the gauge on my fill tank, I can see what the pressure is that way.
Give it a try, you may have the same problem.

I know what you mean, but there is no air in the gun's tank. It has no power when I test fire it.
